""Heart of Glass" şarkısının orjinali daha blues/reggae havasında ilk kez 1975 yılında "Once I had a Love" adıyla kaydedilmiş, 1978 yılında rock tınıları taşıyan bir şekle dönüştürülmüş. 1979 yılında 'disco' müziğinin hit olmasıyla, Blondie'nin "Parallel Lines" albümünün yapımcısı parçayı en bilinen 'disco' versiyonuna kavuşturmuş.
